The ripple is not decoration. A flat-rimmed baker coming out of a 200°C oven has nowhere for a folded towel to sit, and it slips. Rolling a wave into the rim adds a grip point on all four sides without adding a handle that eats oven space.
Every body in this collection is thermal-shock cycled before it joins the line — twenty rounds from a 200°C oven to a cold bench. Pieces that craze are pulled and the batch is re-fired. It is the slowest step in the process and the reason this range has the lowest return rate of anything we ship.
The canisters use the same body and glaze, so a kitchen range and a counter range can be merchandised as one story.
