Sanbao Village in Jingdezhen now holds more than 167 pottery experience studios, and they run at capacity through public holidays. Hand-building, wheel-throwing and custom firing have turned into one of the region's strongest cultural tourism products.
Local manufacturers have followed the traffic. IP-themed blind-box figurines and trend-led ceramic derivatives are now shipping alongside tableware and vases, aimed at a domestic audience that has no interest in porcelain as antique décor.
The structural point is about where value sits. A thousand-year-old manufacturing base found growth by selling the experience of making, not only the object made. For a sourcing partner the practical consequence is capacity: the studios competing for the same skilled hands are no longer only factories, and lead times on hand-decorated work reflect that.
